From Sunday evening, Eskom said that the country would be on stage two load-shedding.

The electricity company stated in a circular that the outages were caused by "plant problems."

"Eskom regrets to inform the public that stage two load-shedding will be introduced due to the loss of 10 generating units at seven power facilities over the last 24 hours," it stated.
