1. Organizational behavior has been affected greatly by the pandemic. Many organizations have laid over most employees, and salary deductions have been experienced. The companies have switched to working from home, and people have had to rely largely on zoom meetings to adjust their strategies. The working environment has also changed because people have to keep a safe distance, and they have to take measures to protect themselves against Covid (McShane, 2017). The pandemic has changed the way people interact and how they react in the workplace. For example, working from home has reduced employee engagement, and it has reduced teamwork significantly.
2. The organizations have changed their approach on COVID 19. Generally, Apple Inc has managed to put temperature checks at every point and encourage social distancing. The company has also included sanitization points where people can sanitize and also wash their hands. The company has also put banners to educate people about COVID 19, and it encourages everyone to wear a mask. The company has also reduced the number of people in the work stations to reduce the traffic, and at the same time, it has come up with new strategies to achieve its goals and objective despite the ongoing pandemic (Dulebohn, 2017).
3. The organization has incorporated virtual teams where people can work as teams through the internet. Some has worked, but some has failed. For example, the teams need to be in constant communication, and when that does not happen, then it leads to a slow down of delivery. The teams also have to compile the work, and it is harder to conduct follow up virtually as compared to physically. Companies need to encourage the employees and also train them on virtual teams and the goals that they are supposed to achieve. It is difficult to achieve the goals if the teams are not committed. I recommend that organizations should consider going digital so that they may not slow down during this period and still achieve their goals.
4. The experience was good because I was able to balance between studies and also personal life. I had to manage my time well when I knew I was to attend a meeting and also be a team player. I had to work with other students and therefore, it was easy when we could communicate with each other and share our ideas. What surprised me was the fact that we managed to learn as though we were in class. At first, I was sceptical about that would work, but eventually, I manage to pull through it. I would definitely recommend virtual teams because they are more effective and minimize time wastage. The virtual teams also encourage the students to work together. There is no room for laziness and they are expected to deliver the assigned work and also attend the meetings at a particular time. Generally, the time I spent with the virtual teams taught me to be quite punctual and also alert because I could not miss important meetings with my fellow classmates. It was also a time for people to share their experiences with the pandemic which was quite effective.
