discuss the steps of performing trend analysis
Choose whatever pattern you'd like to study.
Identifying whatever data trend you wish to target is the first and most evident stage in trend analysis. You could, for example, check for trends in:
Over time, the number of reported difficulties in a department;
Over time, the number of lost time injuries in an organization; or
Initial risk evaluations, whether low or high risk, are made throughout time.
You may select from a variety of trends to focus on. It's just a question of going over the data you've gathered and deciding which data to focus on.
Select a Time Period. Trends are examined over a set period of time. To detect a trend, you must first choose which time period best suits the pattern you are looking for. It's critical to evaluate your "data points" inside those trends when detecting trends.
Collect information. Simply gather your data after you've decided on the sorts of data you'll need. This is relatively straightforward with automated aviation safety databases since the data is collected automatically. All you have to do now is apply filters to your data.
