Motivating them is one of their roles, and this can be done through different ways; one is authoritarian or stick approach. This method of motivation involves compelling employees through threats for failing to perform; HR may impose penalties in case of failures. HR, therefore, can control performance by motivating employees to achieve the best. On the other hand, the reward system is another form of motivation that is most effective and commonly used today; this method involves using monetary, psychological, and non-monetary payments to reward employees for their performance. It helps to motivate employees to work hard to achieve given targets to get the rewards. Unlike authoritative motivation, this reward system promotes fairness and a healthy work environment.
