Human resource officers have the responsibility of ensuring that employees in institutions are productive and happy. Faking performance evaluation documents of an employee for them to get promoted is a form of favoritism. Negative results are associated with favoritism in the workplace. It brings down the morale of the organization and the employees since they feel their efforts are not being rewarded as they are not among the favored ones. Resentment to the employee favored and the human resource officer also occur from other employees. Due to resentment by employees, some of the most skilled employees will desert the company leading to the organization's low performance.

It is also unprofessional and unethical for a human resource officer to fake performance evaluation documents of employees for them to receive a promotion. Additionally, it is unethical for human resource officers to fake performance evaluation documents of employees for them to receive promotions. Consequences of such actions can be job termination or a jail sentence. With this understanding, as a human resource officer, I will not tamper with the performance evaluation documents of the employee.
