1. Make a list of your desired vacation destinations.

The things that are essential to you are your goal destinations. Another name for them is goals, but goals seem like something out of reach, but goal destinations are absolutely within reach if you are prepared to put in the effort to achieve them.

2. Consider how long it will take to achieve the goal.

Discover the distinctions between a short-term and long-term objective. Some objectives will have a “shelf life” due to factors such as age, health, finances, and so on, while others will be up to you to decide when you want to attain them.

3. Make a list of your objectives. Clearly

For each objective, write down what you need and don’t have right now to help you attain it. This might be schooling, a job shift, money, learning a new skill, and so forth. Any goals you removed as “stepping stones” will fit into this exercise. If any of these smaller “goals” have sub-goals, repeat the procedure so that you have specific action points to deal with.

4. Make a list of what you need to accomplish each goal.

Write down the actions you’ll need to do to accomplish each of the stages necessary to achieve the objective under each item mentioned.

5. Make a schedule with specific and realistic dates.

Use the time frames you defined to put down the year you plan to achieve the objective on each goal destination sheet. Consider when you’d want to have completed any objective that doesn’t have a set completion date and use it as your destination date.

6. Make a To-Do List

Take a look at all of your target destinations and develop a timetable of what you need to do this week, this month, and this year to make progress toward your goals.

8. Evaluate Your Results

Although it may take several years to get the promotion you want because you first need to get an MBA, which means finding a job that pays more so you can afford a part-time degree program, you will eventually succeed in achieving your goal destination because you have planned out not only what you want, but also how to get it, and have been proactive in achieving it.
