Employment relations refers to the realization and regulation of the fundamental rights of workers and employers in the constitution.
a) Continued focus on sexual harassment in the workplace
In the recent past, there has been greater focus on how to handle sexual harassment among employees in the organizations.
b) Further action from the Department of Labor on companies not complying with obligations in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
The ministry of labor and social work has been intensifying on employment equity and they will be keen on companies to comply completely or get censure of their licenses.
c) Continued job losses for the old styled workers due to technological power.
The usage of technology is taking center stage in production and many offices with introduction of robotics. There is going to be massive training on matters of technology driven skills.
d) Greater emphasis on integrity to clampdown corruption and anti-money laundering in workplaces.
e) Strike action will increase as workers bear the brunt of inflation. Corona Virus has left the economy at a critical point in that it is experiencing depression and thus leading to inflation causing job losses.
