It is true that classical approach to management has had massive contribution to management today in several ways. For instance the theory has as led to specialization in production leading to better efficiency of labour that translates to better goods and service. Another contribution is development of hierarchical structure in the organization. In the top of the hierarchy is the owners, middle is the managers of departments and normal employees are lowest in hierarchy. This is exactly the structure used in today's management. Another contribution of classical approach theory to management today is the incentive which is a sum given to employees for a responsibility well executed.
Scientific theory advocates use of scientifically researched methods to do a job. Today, research is a critical tool in decision making in management.
The management school process has contributed to today's management functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling.
Today's management learns from behavioural school of thought in that, organizations today are developing worker's welfare agenda that includes mental health to save workers of distress.
The ideas of systems approach is basically in use in management today. It advocates for balance in the system which organizations consider today by balancing subsystems in the organization to operate as one.
Scientific approach to management is largely applied in my organization. It operates based on scientific research given by statistical data analysis. This represents reduction of losses that could incurred and can lead to maximum profits.
