Historically, it has been assumed that health and well-being are individual experiences unrelated to the job. However, studies have clearly shown that workplace variables have a major influence. Organizational change, overload, a lack of autonomy, a lack of position definition, and work discontent are all common issues that can negatively impact a person's health. Employees perceiving that their senior executives prioritize wellbeing, the firm having effective rules that are implemented, and employees having helpful supervision relationships are all variables that positively affect health and wellbeing. It is vital, but not dependable, to rely on managers to observe and identify indications of well-being and influencing variables. In our experience, if managers are feeling overburdened, they may ignore indications or see them but cannot follow up promptly. Baseline measurement enables organizations to follow employee well-being over time, analyze the impact of well-being programs (including evaluating ROI), and give more focused support to any business units requiring it.
