Management is a very significant aspect of any business setting. When there is good management due to an appropriate management approach, the employees get more productive, consequently making the business successful.

For successful management to foster an organization’s success, a relevant approach to the situation should be applied. For instance, when employees are dissatisfied, there is a reduction in profits made and incurrence of losses; a contingency approach is relevant to use. The contingency approach suggests that the adoption of a single rigid system is inefficient in the long term. As a contingency manager, one would pay much attention to the circumstance or situation and their style and interact smoothly. For example, considering the case in question, a manager should ensure that the employees are well informed by providing much and better information flow through relevant ranks. At the same time, the manager needs to ensure that the employees are well motivated to make them active, consequently increasing production. Therefore, managerial practice depends upon different circumstances, which may necessitate the use of other methods.

As a manufacturing department manager, which involves production, the manager should adopt the systems approach to management. A system is made up of subsystems, and an organization is an example of a system with several subsystems in the form of departments. Though coordinated by the top management, each department is independent and accomplishes predetermined goals relevant to each. Therefore, a manufacturing department manager should apply a systems management approach to ensure the department performs better, consequently increasing production.

Management is a critical factor in the success of any business. It is, therefore, necessary for the relevant managers to carefully identify the appropriate management approaches to each arising situation.
