The general data protection regulations(GDPR) were developed to offer the safety of the individual data. however, there are several rights laid out by GDPR that range from allowing people to have easy access to organizational data hold about them and the procedure to eliminate or modify them when necessary. The GDPR rights for individuals include;
1. Right to be informed_ the organizations should be able to tell consumers how their data will be used and who else will share that information before they collect personal data.
2. Rights of rectification- the company should allow the individuals to modify their information in case the data is incomplete or wrongly document.
3. The right to access- the company should be in a position to produce a copy of the personal information of the customers to check the processing protocol and whether it is valid.
4. The right to data portability - the organization's system should permit individuals to shift, transfer or duplicate their particular information across different information systems.
5. The right to erasure - the company should allow people to have their private information eliminated or removed from the system in unavoidable situations.
6. The right to object- the individuals are authorized to oppose the processing of their personal information in certain circumstances such as if the company uses personal data for commercial purposes, for scientific or historical research, for the company legitimate interests, or the accomplishment of duty in the public areas.
7. The rights related to automated decision making and profiling - the company should be able to provide human intervention if requested by an individual as their right or permit personal disagreement when an automated conclusion is made where the outcomes have a legal or substantial effect on society.
