Compare and Contrast career development and career management.
Career development focuses on how a firm implements and aligns various programs to match a person’s abilities, skills, and needs with the career objectives. It focuses on future success and opportunities, which makes it a long-term process. On the other hand, career management encompasses strategies that a firm incorporates in its HR systems to ensure that workers operate towards the goal set. Unlike in development, career management is short term. Nonetheless, the two exhibit some similarities - they both strive to establish a working atmosphere that can enable workers to deliver the organizational goals appropriately.
