A tells B to write a letter of response and post the letter to A’s Cape Town address. On 7 September 2021, B writes a letter of acceptance for A’s offer and posts the letter to A, as instructed. On the day he posts the letter, the Postal and Telecommunications Union calls for an immediate unprotected nationwide strike that cripples the operations and services of the Post Office. X2 and X3 swim up to the lifebuoy, and try to hold on to it. The three men start sinking.
