Do you believe that a written constitution is necessary for the protection of freedoms and rights of citizens?
A written constitution is a formal document defining the nature of the constitutional settlement, the rules that govern the political system and the rights of citizens and governments in a codified form. A written constitution is necessary for the protection of freedoms and rights of citizens in that it is a supreme and fundamental law. It is supreme in the sense that it is harder to change than ordinary law and prevails over ordinary law in case of incompatibility.
