The reason for a speech is referred to as situational context. Consider the situational context to be the event. The physical space and time in which you talk is referred to as environmental context. Consider the event's timing and location in terms of environmental context. In speaking situations, speakers must be prepared to deal with five major challenges: using a lectern, speaking in a large or small venue, speaking outdoors, using a microphone, and audience size.
