Who is George Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel?
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel German philosopher who developed a dialectical scheme that emphasized the progress of history and of ideas from thesis to antithesis and thence to a synthesis. He developed a philosophy called Hegelianism which implied that "the rational alone is real", which means that all reality is capable of being expressed in rational categories. His goal was to reduce reality to a more synthetic unity within the system of absolute idealism.
He was born on August 27, 1770 in Stuttgart, Württemberg Germany and died November 14, 1831, in Berlin.
