1.1 Discuss the role and social status of women in pre-colonial Khoekhoe communities.
Women usually engaged in home chores and at some other times haunted for cosmetible plant life within their geographical location. However, they did not kill animals for food, and women played a crucial rolein decision making process concerning family's herd and we responsible for livestock slaughtering and distributing meat. The authority over the family was bestowed on women to the extent of deciding when a man could go for traditional drinks. There exist contestation over the equality between men and women in this community. On one hand the woman assumed most critical roles in commercial consultations. On the other level shows how vague and susceptible to undesirable assumptions from European approaches were toward the Khoikhoi. However, they rested on both slaves and Khoikhoi for numerous supplies of human survival.
