Can freedom of religion as guaranteed under the Federal Constitution serve as a basis of unity?(more than 60 words)
First amendment as stated in the constitution of the united states is a law that forbids the congress from promoting religious discrimination through promotion of one religion over the others. The provision also outlaws restriction of religious practices of an individual or group of people . Since the united state is a multi-religious country with people who subscribe to different religions, religious discrimination by the government would result into national disunity. The law is therefore a guarantee of national unity because it will make no religious group feel disregarded and discriminated
