Islam comes second after Christianity owing to the number of believers.It is believed that Islam began in the 7th century.It began in Saudi Arabia in what was known as Mecca in the ancient times.Islam began at the time of prophet Muhammad whom Islamic religion credits to be a prophet. Islamic people are monotheists meaning that they worship one God whom they call Allah.Muhammad is said to have received Allah's Word via Angel Gabriel and that was the beginning of a new religion that came to be the Islamic religion.
