Confucianism is about social matters, compared to  Daoism that deals with the search for meaning. Both, Daosism and Confucianism share common beliefs about the universe, man, and society, thus these notions were long before either philosophy. Daosism and Confucianism started as philosophies, but each later took on religious overtones.
