Geography emerged as a consequence of man's eternal desire to learn new things and discover new places. Initially, people who called themselves geographers had so little knowledge that they were afraid of going too far and falling from Earth. Geography in the past times mostly resembled what we call today cartography.
Little by little people started to understand the inner ties between different geographical aspects. Later, they saw that the various geographical aspects explain the way people's health, habits, and trading preferences depend on the place where they live. This led researchers and scientists to the thought that they need a separate discipline called human geography.
