Population growth is the increase of the population of people over time.

The main reasons for overpopulation in India are local customs and beliefs that giving birth to a child is an important part of man's life, beliefs that the number of children determines family's wealth, and difficult economical situation that supports the opinion that kids will take care of parents when they grow old.
