In the play by Sophocles, Creon’s involvement resulted to the shaping of themes in many instances. His primary concern was to rule Thebes with power, but with justice making him favor and followed the law to the letter. On the other hand, his concern of assertiveness as a king and appearing to his subjects as an authoritative decision maker resulted to several themes. On the other hand, Creon was highlighted as disastrous figure but Antigone’s rebellion proved otherwise thus resulting to the theme of blindness. Another concept by Creon is the making of quick decisions that he announces with a strong sense of devotion prior to considering its consequences thus making him a narrow-minded ruler.
