Physical Activities Equipment Made from Recycled Materials
1. Hurdles – made using water noodles, 20 ounce plastic, recycled bottles, athletic tape, and comes. Hurdles can be used as user-friendly and safe equipment for children to jump and run.
2. Quick Kites – made from string/yarn and handled-grocery bags. Quick kites are a great summer and spring activity that enable preschoolers to run in the process of making the kite to fly.
3. Skating booties – collected from companies or hospitals. Little booties are used by doctors when going into surgery or cable installers. They are great for introduction to skating techniques. The students will place the skating booties over their shoes in the skating gym to avoid the fear of slipping or falling in slippery floors.
4. Adapted Bocce – collected from used commercial bocce. Students with various forms disabilities can experience difficulties in throwing bocce. The use of gutter to offer support or ramp enables active participation of learners suffering from movement disabilities.
5. Sock ball – made from thread, needles, pillow stuffing, and used socks that can be donated by the students. Sock balls of varying sizes can be used by students to practice catching and throwing activities.
