An infant walking with support will need something to hold onto. For instance, you can support the infant to stand by giving him/her your hand to hold on. Also, you can place objects in front of the infant like a chair that the infant can easily hold on for support to stand. At the age of 8-12 months, the infant will start moving and will need support to walk. An infant will walk when he/she is sure of not falling or something is ahead to hold on to. However, what will cause the infant to sit or fall down is when the infant has been standing for long and is feeling tired. Also, the infant will sit down when it feels she needs to move faster to grasp an object before it. Also, the infant will fall when it does not see anybody around to support it stand.
