Read the following poem.
Summer’s Day
Today was
a day for kickball in the sweating street,
a day for ice cream, soft and sweet.
Today was
like a warm hug from a dear old friend,
like a toasty squeeze from start to end.
Today will be
a dream—bright, brilliant and green,
when tomorrow comes
and the dreaded day
turns brown and mean.
