The relationship between Bonita and her grandmother is tensed and they do not get along. Bonita is frustrated with her grandmother as she is rude, insensitive and keeps insulting her mother. she shouts at her grandmother severally to stop with the insults but her grandmother does not heed to her shouts. In the end she breaks her grandmother's dentures to stop her from talking. In contrast, Bonita has a loving relationship with her parents. She gets into a heated exchange with her grandmother as she cannot stand her insulting her parents and wants to defend her mother.
