Why do children engage in inappropriate behaviour in the classroom?
If a student is hungry or fatigued, or if a basic need is not addressed, it is more difficult for them to conform and perform what is expected.
Seeking Adult or Classmate Attention: Some students require a higher level of attention than others. Other students believe they do not receive enough attention from their parents or teachers.
Lack of confidence and skills: Some children simply do not know how to act appropriately.
Bad Behavior Benefits Them: Children learn quickly. They learn to act out when they want something or when they don't want something. It's important to stay firm in the face of unacceptable behavior, even if it's difficult.
