Long term effects of workplace bullying
Bullying negatively affects the mind of workers through different ways. The first long-term effect of workplace bullying is that it leads to reduction in productivity of the employees. A worker is greatly affected by bullying and reduces their productivity rate since most of their time are used in thinking.
It also leads to employee absenteeism since an employee is always concerned with what ways they might used in bullying them, and concludes that the organization do not appreciate them. This absenteeism makes the employees at the risk of losing their jobs or even even possible firing. Workplace bullying leads to a reduction in physical health because of the stress that an employee goes through while at work. Stress lead to a reduction in the immunity of the employees making them to be at risk of contracting diseases. Therefore, these long-term effects of workplace bullying lead to an employee quitting their job or sabotaging the resources of the organization.
