Discuss the communicative approach to additional language teaching by linking the communicative approach to the role that input, interaction and output play in additional language teaching. (20)
Communicative approach is based on the idea that learning language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. A learner's natural strategy for language acquisition are used if they are involved in real communication, allowing them to learn to use the language better. Input play a vial role in communicative in that appropriate input will lead to faster learning of the additional language while lack of input will hinder the learning process. Proper interaction using the language provide appropriate insight of an idea in the additional language teaching. Interaction provides better understanding of some parts that are hard to be taught while output is the outcome of both having inputs and interaction. In this case, it is how fluent a learner can be in the additional language after being taught.
