What is a transgender
Transgender is a general term for people whose gender identities are at odds with the sex given at birth. Those who are transgender can be recognized as a man, woman, or a mixture of both. The transgender community signifies themselves as ‘’trans’’ to convey that the sex given at birth does not fully express their real sense of self. A person who was born a female may have a male personality and a person born a male may have a female personality. For example, a transgender person who is biologically female may prefer a male identity which is a better fit and decides to; use a male name, refer to themselves as he, wear outfits meant for men, and link themselves with men's way of life. some transgender people also don’t see the need to make changes to approve this aspect of who they are, others perform surgeries or take hormonal pills to change their body to match with the identity they see fit. Transgender people vary in the way they feel on the inside, the way they dress and behave, and the people they are attracted to.
