Critical theories of education are philosophical, political and pedagogic responses to real world circumstances attempting to shift the purposes, scope, and aims of delivering education to enable cultural and social transformation of individuals.

A teacher after critical theory will always choose different books that are after the understanding and explains the various phenomena of the world. The teacher in this case believes that each student or pupil deserves an elaborate understanding of the world and not just take part in education that they do not understand its origin.

A critically thinking teacher relying on critical theory will always change the thinking of the students and pupils. They will always based their teachings on philosophical and political view rather than the basic teachings. This is because the world is full of political responses and philosophies that help in changing the views of a person because in philosophy everybody is right from their perspective. A teacher using critical theory will always change the thinking of their students and pupils to start thinking like them.

A teacher will always relate his critical theory to education and knowledge. They look for reasons to justify their thinking, hence the relation between teaching and critical theory. Several people have been influenced by the way of thinking of their teacher, who presents alternative views of a subject matter and manipulates the views to fit their way of thinking. Critical theory always relates to education since it affects the very society we live in, an example being the Marxism and feminism.

Based on the punishment measures, a teacher using critical theory will always challenge their students to identify the reason and cause for being punished without the teacher pointing it out themselves. This makes the students to critically think of what they did wrong. The punishment measures by a teacher using critical theory will always be based on the real world circumstances present in the society. The punishment will always have teachings in them and act as a way to inform the students of a certain unfairness in the society or validate a theory present in critical theory.
