Limited government- this principle explains that the government only has the powers as directed by the Constitution and everyone including the President must obey the law.

Separation of Powers- the Constitution separates the power of the government into three branches names Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary. This ensures that not one branch exercises the maximum power, which is against the Constitution.

Checks and balances- government are prone to abusing their power. Therefore, this system of checks and balances safeguards against abuse of power. Each branch of the government has the power to check, or limit the actions of the other two branches.

Individual rights- it reflects on the individual rights of citizens, which includes freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to trial by a jury among others. The structure of the government is developed in that a certain branch must deal with the rights of the citizens and not ignore them.
