Was a law broken?
Yes. Local laws dictated that African American passengers sit at the back of the bus while whites sit in front.
Whether the protest was for something unjust
The protest was about something unjust as there was discrimination on the basis of skin colour on where one should sit on the bus and also giving seats to Americans when the bus was full.
Did it draw attention?
Yes, it drew attention as the public was involved, and the bus management extended the boycott for an indefinite time.
Whether punishment was accepted without resistance
The punishment was not accepted as it was the arrest that resulted in the boycott to fight for the rights of African Americans.

It was non-violent. Together with Martin Luther King Jr., Ralph Abernathy organized the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and helped lead the nonviolent struggle to overturn Jim Crow laws.
