The main difference between CAPS and OBE is that the former is a modified curriculum (rather than a tutoring approach), whilst the latter is a teaching style (it teaches the curriculum).
Outcomes-Based Education was superseded by caps (OBE). "Caps are a highly specific type of cap. They decide what topics should be covered each term. It also defines what topics should be taught every two weeks to matric students.
Both CAPS and OBE both offer assessment test to students.
The main goal of CAPS is to relieve instructors of administrative burdens while still ensuring consistency and direction in the classroom. Subject-specific goals, skills, content-area concentration, and weighting are all part of the teaching and learning process.
