Explain the relationship that exists between Critical Literacy and education and how this relationship has played a role in your academic development as a student.

Critical literacy is the process of being mindful of one’s experience, and understanding the relationship between language and the power it holds. This is achieved through education where reading and writing processes will take place for critical literacy to occur. This process encourages a student to come to terms with the various ideologies in a text, and choose to accept them or deny them. As a student, the relationship between the two has helped me to do ethical actions, and make enlightened decisions on matters relating to power and control.
