Vidura was an embodiment of dharma in The Dicing and the sequel to The Dicing. He is depicted to be intelligent and morally dutiful, acting as a paragon of truth, impartial judgment and steadfast dharma. He represents inner consciousness of the Mahabharata. He attempts to stop the dice game and warns Yudhishtira about the imminent foul play.
