Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge attempts to identify the nature of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge. The key elements of pedagogical content knowledge include; knowledge of representations of subject matter understanding of students' conceptions of the subject, the learning and teaching implications that were associated with the specific subject matter, and general pedagogical knowledge. To this conception of pedagogical content knowledge, others have contributed valuable insights on the importance and relevance of the linguistic and cultural characteristics of a diverse student population. Teaching technological literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving through science education gives students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in school and beyond.
