The title foreshadows that death for the boys is inevitable on the island.

The boys fell on Simon violently and killed him.

The death is foreshadowed in chapter 8 as it his murder is an almost inevitable outcome. During the confrontation in the previous chapter, the Lord of the Flies foreshadows Simon's death by promising to have some fun with him.

What two statements foreshadowing trouble before the night ends are said by Piggy as follows;  "Come away. There's going to be trouble" and "the center of the ring yawned emptily."
