Walter is seen as an ambitious man with good future plans for his family. Having those dreams about his family makes them have hopes in the future and makes them have a strong relation with his wife.
Walter seemed adamant on what he wants and this makes him not to listen to the others and he only wants them to support his decision. His decision that finally backfires ruins his marriage as there is no hope in future because what was their hope is now gone completely. He is also not in good terms with the mother after the incident.
Conclusion
The play is about an African American family experiencing conflicts due to different ideas and ambitions in life. Their dreams finally die after the money invested gets lost in the liquor business.
