A memorable wedding

Finally, the long-awaited day for the couple arrived and everyone was eager to witness them exchange their marriage vows. Everything had been put in place ready for the day. Those who value wearing new clothes during such occasions were not left behind as they tried to match the occasion. The people who came to feed their eyes came in plurals with many expectations. However, things do not happen the way we expect most of the time. No one would have expected such a thing to happen on a special day like this and especially for the couple.

The events of the day are still fresh in my mind because what I witnessed that day was traumatizing. It was almost 1:00 PM and the groom had not arrived. People in attendance could be seen grouping themselves into small groups trying to discuss and guess what might have happened. At first, we thought everything was okay but at 2:00 PM, everything was crystal clear that there was a problem. The bride could be seen trying to make calls here and there and from her looks, she was disturbed. The pastor could be heard praying very hard from his prayer room trying to ask God why things were happening that way. Rumors said that the groom was nowhere to be seen and no one knew his whereabouts. On top of that, he was not answering calls and therefore no one had an idea where was.

An hour later is when a sigh of relief could be seen on our faces when we heard that the groom was finally coming. When finally the groom arrived, he looked scared but still determined to have the occasion come to pass. The wedding was conducted very fast and by 4:30 PM everything was in place. Later in the day is we got information that the groom had been abducted the night on the eve of the wedding day and no one knew whether this had happened because he was living alone and far from other households and that abductors wanted to kill him so that he does not marry the groom as she was someone else’s secret admirer.

To sum up, the memorable thing is how we had lost hope in the wedding only for the guy to show the last minute and directed the pastor to officiate the wedding without questioning provided they had seen him alive
