In my opinion summer break is significant for student learning. First it enhances their opportunities as it helps them to improve their understanding of social skills. Second, it breaks their monotony of intense and continuous learning hence it saves them from the agony of suffering from depression. Lastly, it improves their relationships with their families. It is therefore significant to discuss the merits of summer break to students. 

Summer break makes students to improve their understanding of social skills. It is during summer break that the students learn new things and experience life without rules and guidelines of the curriculum. Outside the curriculum, they initiate positive social bonding as they interact with the world away from school. First through creating new friendship ties with the rest of the society members like friends they meet on vacation, their role models and their hobby partners. Indeed, this makes them independent and also provide them with a new set of skills that they require to survive in the society beyond the school days.

Moreover, summer break aids to break the monotony and continuous learning that learners experience in school. As stated before, the hard working learners are able to join their parents to go on vacations alongside their siblings or other kids. The more time they spend, the slimmer chances of the students sinking into depression.

Eventually, summer breaks will prevent the students from sinking into depression. During the ordinary school days, the teachers work around the clock to ensure the students get the grades to enable them to graduate to high school and hopefully the tertiary stage of learning. The whole process is intense and the learners may be fatigued and eventually depressed. Eventually the students may start going downhill academically and emotionally. The rest from the vacation and the other time off that the learners get during vacation boosts their stamina and mental acuity in all domains. The implication therefore is that summer breaks opens the learners to new ideas, innovation and creativity.

Summer break is therefore pivotal for the wholesome growth of the learners. As noted in this paper summer break enhances the students understanding of social skills, it aids them to break monotony from continuous learning, and it prevents them from the likelihood of suffering from depression. The best way of flushing out the congestion accumulated by students during learning is by letting them have summer brakes.
