Answer the following question: What is my chosen emotion that I want to improve and what is my SMART goal related to developing the chosen emotion?
I suppose "Alive" is one of the emotions I'd like to improve. When I read the words that go along with this emotion, I realize how much I'm missing; I can only rate a few of those emotions because I'm dealing with a present circumstance that needs to be resolved in order for me to completely awaken. I believe the reason I don't feel alive is due to variables outside my control, as we taught in unit 6 "Self-talk," but here's how I'd utilize SMART goals to gain better access to the feelings listed beneath the emotion "Alive."
My SMART Goal for the emotion development.
Specific: I need to analyze the feelings under Alive that I am currently unable to feel and figure out why I haven't been able to access them yet, what factors are at play in this issue that are preventing me from feeling all of the other feelings necessary to feel alive, and determine whether those factors are out of my control, influences, or controllable factors through self-talk.
Measurable: What are the best ways to reconnect with those long-forgotten emotions, and what can I do to make changes in my life to bring them closer? And what can action behaviors or mine be modified during the trial and error?
Attainable: I'll have to accept that achieving my objective may take some time, and that patience will be required throughout the process, as well as the possibility of failure before seeing results.
Relevant: Feeling alive, in my opinion, is helpful to an individual's life; it may make them feel better and happier, and encourage them to put more effort into their work. I believe it is significant to me because I will learn to be more patient, grateful for the things I have, and motivated to achieve my long-term goals.
Time-framed: I'm hoping this will last a long time because it is a valuable resource in my life that allows me to function better as a person in my daily life, as well as in my academic and professional endeavors.
