Rizal creates the Philippines in his essay to appear unfortunate victims of the evils of an unjust, biased and deteriorating power. The instability of Spanish politics since the turbulent reign of king Ferdinand vii ( 1803-1833) marked the beginning of political chaos in Spain .The facts proved that precolonial Filipino society was relatively advanced ,suggesting that the presumed backwardness was due to colonialism. They believe that Spain and the Philippines would eventually become equal independent partners.
