THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY IN ND CULTURAL AWEARNESS IN CLASSROOM.
In the classroom, cultural diversity is on the rise. In 2014, the number of Latino, African-American, and Asian pupils in US public schools topped the number of white students for the first time. According to the United States Census Bureau, people of color will make up more than half of the population by 2050, therefore this trend is expected to continue. It is more vital than ever for teachers to incorporate culturally responsive instruction in the classroom, whether they are teaching elementary school, middle school, or high school students, in our increasingly varied and global society. And the rise in diversity isn't just about color and ethnicity. It can include students of different religion, economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and language background.
