Cultivating diversity in my classroom is critical, because of the academic and social benefits. By first getting to know my pupils, I can respect ethnic difference. Because each of the pupils at the school is a unique individual, I will capitalize on this fact to foster a diverse and inclusive school culture. I'll spend some time getting to know the students: where did they come from, for example? In general, what type of socioeconomic status do they have? Is their academic performance up to par, or are they having difficulties? Are they well-liked by their classmates?
Second, I'll talk about inequality. Creating a space for students and educators to talk about how discrimination affects them on a personal, classroom, and school-wide level is an important part of encouraging diversity in the classroom. The more diversity is discussed in school, the less kids and teachers will be hesitant to speak up about it. As a school leader, I have the opportunity to lead the discussion and encourage others in the school to do the same. This discussion will not be restricted to words; in order to impact change, I must take concrete steps to confront inequity when I encounter it, such as shutting down discrimination.
