Personally I have been oppressed in various instances in my life. For example, our nanny once locked me in the closet when my parents were away on a trip because she felt that I was distracting her. I was also a bit hesitant to make friends in my new school because of my accent that I thought was odd compared to theirs. This really oppressed me.
