Strategies that will help to increase the quality of outdoor teaching and learning environments include;
- Staff should provide interesting and purposeful materials that are intentionally linked to curriculum activities.
- Staff should ensure that the learning materials are well organized, safe and durable.
- The learning materials should be sufficient in quantity to support interests and learning goals.
- Ensuring that staff members understand the unique needs of the age group with which they work so as to be able to to appropriately design the physical environment.
- Ensure that the staff understand the types of disasters and emergencies that might affect them and the children in their care and also be prepared on how to respond to them.
