In my opinion, I think within a bee colony, every member of the colony has a vital role to play in order to sustain other members of the colony. It may be honeycomb building for the storage of the honey. It may be temperature regulation within the hive. It may be looking for food for young ones to feed. It is through this combined effort and laboring for others that the colony as a whole is sustained and it thrives. When the bee is not in the colony, most of its time it spends on flowers, getting the nectar which in turn it carries with it back. The nectar is converted to honey. If it carries anything harmful like poison it would affect the bees and the entire colony.
