Teachers play a major role in guiding their students in becoming responsible citizens. A competent teacher plays an essential role in efficient and effective learning. A teacher as a facilitator encourages the creativity, ownership, and participation of their learners. In attending to the Catch and Focus and Teaching-Learning phases of a lesson, the competent teacher as a facilitator helps influence the group and ensure that they stay on track and the facilitator avoids dictating this. This teacher avoids working under the traditional thought of instructing but helps the learners dominate themselves by selecting aside thoughts and roughly framing their special brains. They ensure that the group takes ownership of the outcomes they achieve in the lesson. The learners are guided in reaching their own solutions without being offered solutions. The facilitator ensures that he or she creates an environment in which the participants involved feel that they are encouraged.
